–  The National Police Headquarters confirmed that they are now investigating the news related to the alleged leak of 26 million police data that circulating on the hacker forum site. Head of General Information of the National Police Public Relations Division, Commissioner Nurul Azizah, explained that the police could not provide further information yet. However, the alleged data leak will be followed up and investigated by the Directorate of Cyber Crime of National Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

“We still can’t give you anything about it, the Cyber Crime Directorate will investigate the case,” explained Commissioner Nurul when confirmed via text message, Thursday (22/9/2022).

It was previously reported that one of the Hacker forum users with a user named Meki uploaded a thread titled ’26M DATABASE NATIONAL POLICE IDENTITY OF INDONESIA REPUBLIC’ by displaying the large logo of the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of Metro Jaya Police, Wednesday (21/9).

In his description, the hacker claimed to have the important documents of all police personnel throughout Indonesia in CSV format which was hacked in September 2022. The total documents that was leaked were 26,263,105 documents. The data that is claimed to be leaked (compromised data) is in the form of rank, Basic Registration Number (NRP), full name, position, photo, area, email, Population Identification Number (NIK), telephone number, and others.

The hacker, who had just uploaded the three leaked data threads, also provided several samples of the leaked data which he claimed to be ‘valid data for members of the Indonesian Police’.

Some of the names he listed included the Police Chief Brigadier General Damianus Jackie, Deputy Police Chief Commissioner Anton Carliyan, the Director of Special Criminal Investigation, Commissioner RZ Panca Putra, and the Director of General Criminal Investigation Commissioner Trihadi Sutono.

However, based on the search, the names are not the acting Director of Special Criminal Investigation of Metro Jaya Police. They served at the Central Kalimantan Regional Police from 2009 to 2012.
