Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Chairperson of All Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) Erick Thohir says FIFA disbursed funds worth IDR 85.6 billion as their contribution in building National Training Center in Nusantara, the new capital of Indonesia.

“FIFA, in the first phase, have helped the funding worth of IDR 85.6 billion. This is the first time FIFA have helped funding a project this much to a country,” said the chairperson of PSSI on Friday (9/22/2023).

Erick explains that the construction of National Training Center has divided into two phases in a land of 34.5 hectares. He planned that the groundbreaking process of National Training Center would be completed in six months.

For the first construction phase, there would be two field facilities along with accommodations for athletes and coaches, complete with changing rooms and other supporting facilities.

“This could be achieved thanks to our cooperation with Public Works and Human Settlements Ministry, where the facilities of the supporting infrastructures and land clearing were handled by Basuki (Minister For Public Works and Human Settlements),” thanked Erick.

Other than Basuki, Erick also conveys his gratitude towards the Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, for funding the construction of National Training Center up to IDR 90 billion.

While on the second construction phase, there would be eight field consist with five main fields, one futsal field, one closed training field, and also a bits football field along with other supporting facilities such as swimming pools, science sports, and others.

“I think this is a sign that the world, on this case FIFA, believed that Nusantara construction project is solid, and obviously this is a great news,” said Erick.

He hoped that the sport facilities in Nusantara could realize people’s dream in sports.
