Inp.polri.go.idJayapura. In a significant move to strengthen security and boost morale, Indonesian Military Commander General Agus Subiyanto and Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo visited the Papua Military Command headquarters on Friday (8/12/2023).

The leaders, accompanied by Papua Regional Police Inspector General Mathius D. Fakhiri, addressed 1,411 military and police personnel and officials, highlighting the need for synergy in maintaining Papua’s security.

“It is important to develop close cooperation between senior military leaders and personnel in the field,” Commander Agus said in his address.

INP Chief Sigit also thanked the ranks of the the military and police personnel their exceptional performance in Papua.

The visit included counseling sessions, appreciative gestures such as assistance to high-achieving children of the military, the INP and civil servants, and the symbolic handover of three armoured vehicles. Both leaders showed their appreciation by sponsoring a religious journey to Mecca for 27 outstanding personnel of the military, police and civil servants.

This strategic visit not only strengthened coordination between defense and security institutions, but also fostered a respectful and motivating working environment for the military and police personnel in Papua.
