inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Nabire Sub-regional Police deployed 200 personnel to secure the working visit of Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka to Nabire Regency, Central Papua.

Nabire Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Samuel Tatiratu, stated that the personnel deployment was carried out to ensure the safe and smooth running of the Vice President's visit.

"Personnel will not only escort the motorcade, but will also be stationed at several crowded areas welcoming the Vice President," said Samuel on Monday (4/20/2026).

He ensured that the security situation during the visit was conducive and without any disturbances.

The Vice President's visit to Nabire was brief, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, before continuing on to Mimika Regency.

During the visit, the Vice President and the Governor of Central Papua inspected several strategic infrastructure projects, including the construction of the Nabire Airport runway, the central government area, and Nabire Port.

Acting Central Papua Regional Secretary Silwanus Sumule stated that cross-sector coordination had been carried out thoroughly, including joint security measures by the Indonesian Military  (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (INP).

He stated that the Vice President's visit was crucial in accelerating the development of Central Papua as a new autonomous region (DOB).

He explained that the regional government was implementing 12 main agenda items for the new autonomous region (DOB), such as holding elections, establishing the Papuan People's Assembly (MRP), establishing the Central Papua Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD), and managing regional assets.

"Most of the agenda items have been implemented, although some still need to be optimized, particularly the development of government centers," he said.
