inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police uncovered 2,216 cases of 3C (motorcycle theft, burglary, and robbery) in Jakarta and its surrounding areas from January to June 2026. Of these thousands of cases, 2,054 suspects were arrested.

The Vice Director of Criminal Investigation at the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Superintendent Danang Setiyo, stated that the disclosures were based on police reports filed by the public. A total of 5,436 police reports were received over six months.

"From these disclosures, officers successfully apprehended 2,054 suspects, some of whom are currently being detained, and some have been handed over to the Prosecutor's Office," explained Danang on Tuesday (6/30/2026).

In addition to arresting the suspects, police also seized several pieces of evidence, including IDR 2 billion in cash, 14 firearms, 41 sharp weapons, 1,825 motorcycles, 22 cars, 296 cell phones, 10 laptops, 95 rounds of ammunition, 4 airsoft guns, and 866.98 grams of gold. These items were confiscated for trial, while the remainder is still under investigation.

"For their actions, the suspects are being charged under Article 477 of the Criminal Code, Article 479 of the Criminal Code, Article 306, Article 307 of the Criminal Code, and Article 591 of the Criminal Code," he said.
