inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Narcotics Investigation Directorate of the Indonesian National Police (INP) thwarted the distribution of 86.3 kilograms of methamphetamine and 5,171 ecstasy pills from a Riau-South Sumatra drug network and named six suspects.
The Director of Narcotics Directorate of INP, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, stated in Jakarta on Tuesday (8/4/2026) that the six suspects identified as I, AR, SHW, TM, YNS, and M. Meanwhile, two other individuals, Punay and Bos Aeng, are on the wanted list (DPO).
"Investigators have named six suspects: I, AR, SHW, TM, YNS, and M. Punay and Bos Aeng are also on the wanted list," Eko said.
He explained that the case began with information from the public regarding suspected drug distribution in Pekaitan District, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau.
Following up on this information, Sub-Directorate IV and the National Narcotics Investigation Center of INP conducted an investigation and found Suspect I transferring four boxes containing narcotics to a boat.
"I admitted that he was ordered by AR to pick up the four boxes and deliver them to the Rokan River coast, Pekaitan District," he said.
Officers then arrested AR, SHW, and TM in the Rokan River coastal area along with a vehicle prepared to transport the goods.
According to SHW and TM's statements, they were ordered by Punay to deliver the four boxes to Palembang City, South Sumatra. Investigators then used controlled delivery techniques to trace the recipient's network.
In Palembang, as directed by Punay, SHW parked the vehicle carrying the four boxes in a hotel parking lot.
"The vehicle was parked at a designated location during the day, locked, and the keys were hidden in the exhaust pipe for the recipient to retrieve as directed by Punay," Eko explained.
Several hours later, suspect YNS arrived to pick up the vehicle. YNS told investigators that he was ordered by Boss Aeng to pick up a car containing suspected narcotics.
According to Eko, YNS admitted to knowing Boss Aeng through an individual with the initials AR while both were in the Tanjung Balai Karimun Detention Center in the Riau Islands.
As part of the investigation, officers confiscated 80 black plastic packages containing methamphetamine weighing 86,386 grams (86.3 kilograms) and 5,171 pink TMT brand ecstasy pills.
All suspects and evidence have been taken to the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency's Narcotics Directorate Office in Jakarta for further questioning.
"We are still developing this case to uncover the network and other parties suspected of involvement," he said.
