inp.polri.go.id - Lampung. The South Lampung Sub-regional Police disclosed eight police reports related to narcotics crimes throughout August 2026. In these disclosures, police arrested 12 suspects, all male.
This was announced by South Lampung Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Deddy Kurniawan, in a press conference held on Friday (9/4/2026).
Deddy stated that the eight cases were uncovered in several locations in South Lampung, ranging from the port area to several residential areas.
The locations of the disclosures included the Bakauheni Seaport Interdiction, the parking area of the BBJ Port in Bakauheni Village, Sumur Hamlet in Ruguk Village, Ketapang District, the East Cross Road in Ketapang Village, Kelawi Village, Bakauheni District, and Jalan Pratu M Amin in Kalianda District.
"In August 2026, we uncovered eight police reports and arrested 12 suspects. These arrests were made at several locations using different methods," said Deddy.
From these eight cases, police confiscated methamphetamine with a total gross weight of 42.86 kilograms.
In addition to the methamphetamine, police confiscated one package of marijuana weighing 9.29 grams and 769 cartridges containing etomidate.
This discovery has a reported economic value of IDR 45,136,940,000 (approximately US$3,700), saving 174,169 lives from the dangers of drug abuse.
During the discovery, police identified several methods used by the suspects, including hiding narcotics in vehicles, conducting drug transactions in private homes, and storing narcotics in homes, bags, and food containers.
In addition to the narcotics, police also confiscated three vehicles, several cell phones, bags, vehicle keys, and four digital scales related to the crime.
For their actions, the suspects were charged under Article 114 paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, as well as Article 609 paragraph (2) letters a and b, and Article 612 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code, which carries a minimum prison sentence of five to 20 years, life imprisonment, or the death penalty in certain cases.
Deddy emphasized that the disclosure of these eight cases is part of the South Lampung Police's commitment to eradicating narcotics trafficking in its jurisdiction.
