inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti stated that his office is ensuring that information about the identity of the suspected bomber at Srengseng Sawah 15 Elementary School does not reach the suspect's children, to prevent bullying at school.

"We urge no one to inform their children about this, and we ask that his identity be properly hidden," said Abdul on Tuesday (7/14/2026).

The suspected terrorist was apprehended at 12:20 a.m. on Monday (7/13/2026) in Kidan Alley, Srengseng Sawah Hamlet, Srengseng Sawah Village, Jagakarsa District, South Jakarta, not far from the school. He is the parent of one of the students.

Senior Superintendent Rita Wulandari Wibowo, Director of the Women and Children Protection Investigation Unit at the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, stated that her office is providing education and trauma healing for the children in response to the terror incident.

"After this, we will also educate the teachers so that we have the same enthusiasm for how to secure and make this school safe, comfortable, and welcoming," said Rita.

"We immediately educated them and we're treating them. Currently, no one is providing information, spreading, or distributing content related to the incident at this school," she continued.

Previously, police revealed that the bombing at Srengseng Sawah 15 Elementary School, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, on Monday (7/13/2026), began with a private WhatsApp message during the first day of the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS).

The WhatsApp message was received by a first-grade teacher and administrative staff. They then reported it to the police and immediately inspected the crime scene (TKP).

The WhatsApp message contained a threat to detonate bombs at 11 locations in the school and asked the school not to report it to the police.

"Be prepared. In a matter of minutes, the Srengseng Sawah 15 Elementary School will explode at the 11 locations," the message read.
