inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The West Java Regional Police are still investigating the possibility of sexual violence in the alleged serious assault and confinement case of YTR (29), with suspect Taufik Hidayat.

Head of Public Relations for the West Java Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Hendra Rochmawan, stated that investigators have not yet concluded whether there were elements of sexual violence, as several statements still need to be verified and reconciled.

"That's what we're investigating because some of the very limited statements from the victim and witnesses still don't match," said Hendra on Friday (6/25/2026).

He explained that due to the victim's condition, as she is still undergoing treatment and recovery, investigators have not yet obtained complete information regarding the entire sequence of events she experienced while allegedly being held captive by the suspect.

Hendra stated that the West Java Regional Police have formed a joint task force involving the General Criminal Investigation Directorate, the Directorate of Criminal Acts for Women and Children Services and Human Trafficking Crimes, the Cyber Directorate, and the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate to expedite the case's investigation.

"The Directorate of Criminal Acts for Women and Children Services and Human Trafficking Crimes is indeed the leading sector, but we have formed a Task Force to solve this case and involve all work units," he said.

In addition to the alleged sexual assault, investigators are still investigating several other facts, including the locations allegedly used to confine the victim, the suspect's motive, and the function of several pieces of evidence found at the scene.

He emphasized that his team does not want to rush to conclusions before all evidence and witness statements are fully gathered.

"We are still investigating, and there is still much we need to synchronize regarding the results of the investigation and inquiry," said Hendra.
