Inp.polri.go.id - Surabaya. The Bhayangkara Police Hospital in Surabaya has received a total of 62 body bags following the collapse of the prayer hall at Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School in Sidoarjo, East Java, as of Tuesday afternoon.
“God willing, some DNA results will be ready today. We plan to reconcile the data at 3 p.m. and announce the findings after evening prayers,” said East Java Police’s Medical and Health Division Head, Commissioner Khusnan Marzuki.
He confirmed that several DNA samples had been sent from the forensic laboratory in Jakarta to Bhayangkara Hospital for further verification. “Once the DNA results are finalized, the identifications will be confirmed with no doubt,” he said.
Of the 62 body bags, seven contain body parts while the rest are intact victims awaiting identification. Khusnan added that DNA identification may take three days to two weeks depending on complexity but expressed hope the process will conclude swiftly.
