Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Central Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police uncovered a cross-regional drug trafficking ring on Friday (20/3/2026), seizing 26.7 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and 900 liquid narcotic vape cartridges. 

Authorities arrested a repeat offender, identified as "K," who allegedly attempted to smuggle the illicit cargo from Medan to Jakarta by exploiting the heavy focus on Eid holiday security operations.

"This shows that narcotics crimes continue to adapt to current situations," said Senior Superintendent CommissionerReynold EP Hutagalung, the Chief of the Central Jakarta Police, as quoted by antaranews.com

He said that the raid in Cileungsi, Bogor, revealed a sophisticated smuggling tactic: the drugs were concealed inside vehicle tires transported by a towing truck to evade highway inspections. The shipment was estimated to be valued at approximately Rp 25.9 billion. 

The suspect now faces the severest penalties under Indonesia's 2009 Narcotics Law, including the possibility of the death penalty or life imprisonment.
