Inp.polri.go.id - Palangkaraya. The Central Kalimantan Regional Police expanded its food self-sufficiency program on Tuesday (7/7/2026) by securing micro-loans and introducing downstream agricultural innovations.

Partnering with local administrations, the military, and state-owned banks, the police facilitated Rp 957 million in funding for 17 local farming groups in Central Kalimantan to bolster national food security toward the "Golden Indonesia 2045" vision.

"Food self-sufficiency is a national priority program that must be supported collectively," Central Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Iwan Kurniawan said. "We hope farmers' welfare continues to increase alongside food self-sufficiency."

The multi-sector partnership successfully yielded 72,478 tons of corn across 16,066 hectares from 2025 to 2026, involving 242 police-mentored farming groups. Beyond cultivation, the initiative implements technical innovations, including intercropping corn in palm oil plantations, processing organic waste into long-term livestock feed, and distributing specialized "Gawi Barinjam" compost.
