inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police Drugs Criminal Investigation Directorate has uncovered a clandestine lab for the production of ecstasy and happy water. The network operated out of an apartment in the Cipinang area of East Jakarta.
The police team conducted the operation on Monday (3/30/2026) at around 7:00 PM. During the operation, investigators arrested two suspects, identified as K (32) and S (38), in front of a minimarket in Tower G of the Basura Apartments, Cipinang.
"Evidence was found in the possession of the two suspects, including 10 ecstasy pills," explained the Director of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police Drugs Criminal Investigation, Senior Superintendent Ahmad David, on Tuesday (3/31/2026).
He stated that investigators then investigated the suspects' room on the 22nd floor of the Dahlia Tower. The room is strongly suspected of being used as a drug lab and storage location.
"At the second location, a large quantity of evidence was found, including 16.695 kilograms of ready-to-press ecstasy raw materials, estimated to be capable of producing more than 33,000 ecstasy pills, 643 ecstasy pills ready for distribution, and 34 packets of happy water," he said.
Furthermore, he said, various chemicals and production equipment were also confiscated, such as chemical powders, ecstasy molds, digital scales, blenders, plastic presses, and a set of laboratory equipment, which further strengthens the suspicion of a clandestine drug production lab.
