inp.polri.go.id - Bekasi. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief is encouraging companies to change their perspective on workers. Workers should not be viewed merely as laborers, but as assets, partners, and part of the company family.

This message was conveyed by him while attending the Grand Consolidation of the Federation of Indonesian Metal Workers Unions (FSPMI) at the MM2100 Industrial Estate, Bekasi Regency, West Java, on Friday (9/11/2026).

"Make workers an asset, a partner, and part of the company family," said Chief Sigit.

This perspective is considered crucial for building healthy work relations. The sustainability of the company and the welfare of workers are not two interests that should be in conflict, but rather must go hand in hand.

Companies need productive and qualified workers to survive and thrive. Conversely, workers need healthy companies to ensure job security and improve their welfare.

This balance is becoming more necessary amidst global geopolitical and economic dynamics that are putting pressure on the business world and the employment sector. This situation demands that the government, entrepreneurs, investors, and workers strengthen communication and collaboration.

Chief Sigit also commended the FSPMI's efforts to lean towards strengthening relationships and dialogue with the government and business community. It is hoped that differences of interest in industrial relations can be resolved through communication and deliberation, rather than actions that harm workers or companies.

A similar approach was also seen in the discussion of the Job Creation Law, which began with a meeting between labor unions and employer associations. This step was appreciated as an effort to find common ground while adhering to regulations and protecting workers' rights.

Amidst efforts to strengthen industrial relations, the government also continues to encourage downstreaming and investment to create new jobs. Indonesia's rich natural resources and large domestic market are crucial assets for increasing economic added value and expanding employment opportunities.

However, investment requires a safe and conducive climate. Therefore, Chief Sigit requested that any illegal levies, thuggery, or other disturbances to public order and security that hinder business activities be immediately reported to the police for further action.
