"We want to ensure that artists do not work alone. The state is here to open access, strengthen networks, and create a healthy ecosystem for the growth of sustainable art practices," Fadli said in a statement confirmed from Jakarta on Monday (3/30/2026).

He made this statement during a meeting and gathering with representatives of visual artists in Yogyakarta, aimed at strengthening the national visual arts ecosystem and promoting the strategic role of artists in Indonesia's cultural diplomacy at the global level.

He also emphasized that fine art plays a crucial role as a medium of expression and as a representation of national identity.

Furthermore, Fadli Zon highlighted the importance of strengthening the presence of Indonesian artists in international forums.

According to him, cultural diplomacy through fine art is an effective way to introduce Indonesia's diverse and dynamic image.

He added that cross-border collaboration and participation in international exhibitions will continue to be encouraged as part of the national cultural strategy.

The meeting with artists provided a space for open dialogue between the government and artists, discussing various issues ranging from strengthening arts infrastructure, access to exhibition spaces, to supporting artists' mobility to the international stage.
