Inp.polri.go.id - Samarinda. To mark the 80th Bhayangkara Day and combat illegal street racing, the Open Drag Bike Police Academy (Akpol) 1990 Dhira Brata Cup Championship 2026 opened at the Ex-Temindung Airport Field in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, running from 25 to 26 July 2026.

The two-day tournament attracted 506 racers competing across 32 distinct racing categories, including Main Class, Supporting Class, Sunmori Open, local East Kalimantan classes, as well as dedicated Harley-Davidson and big bike divisions.

In a video address, Chairman of the Akpol 1990 Alumni Association and Deputy Chief of the Indonesian National Police (INP), Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo, highlighted the event's dual role as a competitive venue and an educational vehicle for road safety.

"This event serves as an innovative platform to test skills and strengthen national automotive collaboration, while playing a strategic role in educating the public and youth to become traffic safety pioneers," he said "Younger generations are provided an appropriate outlet to channel their passion for speed without engaging in illegal street racing on public roads, which endangers themselves and others."

Carrying the official event slogan "Gas on the circuit, stay orderly on the road," the championship aims to establish an annual platform for nurturing local motorsport talent in a controlled, safe environment.
