inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police's Narcotics Investigation Directorate has uncovered the distribution of etomidate, a narcotic packaged in e-cigarette cartridges.
In the raid, police confiscated 518 etomidate cartridges from two different locations: West Jakarta and the Serpong area, South Tangerang, Banten. A man identified as HW (41) was also arrested in the operation.
"This arrest stemmed from a public report regarding alleged narcotics distribution in the West Jakarta area," said Head of Sub-Directorate 2 of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police's Narcotics Directorate, Superintendent Triyatno Pamungkas, in Jakarta on Monday (9/14/2026).
Triyatno explained that the operation was carried out on Thursday (9/3/2026) at approximately 11:26 a.m.
"Following up on information from the public, officers conducted an investigation and successfully apprehended HW at the first location in West Jakarta," he said.
During a search of the first location, officers found dozens of etomidate cartridges packaged in plastic bags bearing the "Fox" logo. The items were disguised inside used electronic device containers, such as headsets and snack boxes.
Police then expanded their investigation to a second location, a boarding house in the Serpong area of South Tangerang City.
"The investigation was carried out at the second location in Serpong, South Tangerang. Police successfully confiscated hundreds of additional cartridges in various colors," said Triyatno.
From the two locations, police seized a total of 518 etomidate cartridges, two cell phones, and a black bag.
HW, along with all the evidence, has been taken to the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police Narcotics Directorate Office for further questioning and investigation.
