Inp.polri.go.id - Kupang. East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Chief Inspector General. Dr. Rudi Darmoko urged communities to immediately cease the production of homemade firearms, stressing that such activities pose serious threats to public safety and social stability.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday (4/6/2026), he explained that illegal weapons not only violate the law but also escalate conflicts that can result in casualties. 

“We firmly warn all parties to stop making homemade firearms. If found, we will take legal action,” he said.

The warning was directed especially at small-scale producers and home industries. Chief Rudi said that preventive measures will include public education and outreach about the dangers of illegal weapons. Citizens are encouraged to report any firearm-related activities to authorities.

“This cooperation is crucial to prevent conflict and maintain peace in East Nusa Tenggara,” Rudi added.
