Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia assured on Thursday (16/4/2026) that Indonesia's energy cooperation with the United States remains intact despite the government's move to purchase crude oil and LPG from Russia.

Following a meeting at the Merdeka Palace, Bahlil emphasized that Indonesia’s annual requirement of approximately 300 million barrels of crude oil necessitates a diversified supply chain, prioritizing national economic interests and energy security.

"Our crude oil needs are significant. We will source from any partner, including the U.S. and Russia, as long as it benefits our country," he said, as cited by antaranews.com.

The Minister recently reported back to President Prabowo Subianto following high-level discussions in Moscow with Russian energy officials. Minister Bahlil described the negotiations as "encouraging," noting that deals for crude oil are nearly finalized, while discussions regarding LPG imports and infrastructure development to boost national reserves will require further stages.
