Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister  of Foreign Affairs Sugiono confirmed Saturday (4/4/2026)  that three additional Indonesian peacekeepers serving with UNIFIL were injured in the latest escalation of the Lebanon conflict, bringing the total number of wounded personnel to eight.

"I received reports last night that three more soldiers were injured, following a pattern similar to previous incidents currently under investigation," he said, as reported by antaranews.com.

The announcement came shortly after a military ceremony honoring three fallen soldiers who recently lost their lives in the region. UNIFIL authorities are conducting a deep-site investigation to determine the exact cause of the latest casualties, as cross-border tensions continue to endanger international stabilization forces.

Minister Sugiono said that Indonesia remains committed to its peacekeeping mandate despite the rising risks. Officials are coordinating closely with United Nations headquarters to ensure the safety of the remaining contingent, while the newly injured soldiers receive medical evaluation following the series of artillery and explosive strikes that have impacted the Indonesian mission since late March.
