inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, Vice Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) for Public Communication and Investigation, stated that fresh food distribution under the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program will be distributed five times a week to schoolchildren.
Meanwhile, in disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost (3T) areas, dry food that does not require complex processing will be provided to beneficiaries.
"Fresh food is distributed only for five days to schoolchildren. For 3T areas, dry food is provided, not processed food, such as milk, fruit, bread, and other food items that are easier to store and distribute," said Nanik, Tuesday (3/31/2026).
She explained that this distribution scheme is implemented to maintain the quality and freshness of the food ingredients used in menu preparation, while also considering its effectiveness in areas with difficult geographic conditions.
In these areas, food distribution is focused on dry food items that do not require complex processing.
"This policy was adopted as an adaptation to limited infrastructure, distribution access, and storage facilities in the 3T areas. This is expected to ensure all beneficiaries continue to receive adequate nutrition, even in areas with logistical challenges," explained Nanik.
Meanwhile, for high-risk food groups, such as pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers (3B), the distribution process will continue according to established mechanisms.
"For 3B, distribution will continue as usual until Saturday," she said.
The BGN emphasized that all distribution schemes adhere to national nutritional standards and food safety principles to ensure the MBG Program is effective and on target.
