inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa confirmed that subsidized fuel prices will not increase until the end of this year, despite rising global oil prices due to the escalation of the US-Israel conflict against Iran.
However, he stated that he could not predict or provide any guarantees regarding the price dynamics of non-subsidized fuels because these commodities are not included in the government's price relief program.
"We are prepared not to increase subsidized fuel prices until the end of the year, assuming an average oil price of US$100 per barrel until the end of the year," the Minister of Finance stated on Monday (4/6/2026).
He explained that his ministry has prepared mitigation measures and calculated the resilience of the State Budget (APBN) if global oil prices rise, either to US$80 per barrel or US$100 per barrel.
In addition to the State Budget (APBN), Purbaya stated that the government still has other funding sources to anticipate pressure on global oil prices, one of which is the Surplus Budget (SAL) fund, which reaches IDR 420 trillion, including IDR 200 trillion placed in banks.
Furthermore, the government also still has various revenue items that can act as a buffer/cushion for the subsidy budget needs, such as Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) from the energy and mineral resources (ESDM) sector.
