Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Health officially issued a circular on Sunday (29/3/2026), establishing mandatory vigilance protocols for medical and health workers following a series of measles outbreaks across Indonesia.

"With the rise in hospitalizations, our frontline health workers face high exposure risks. Strengthening protection measures in all healthcare facilities is now a critical priority," said Andi Saguni, the Acting Director General of Disease Control, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The circular comes as the ministry tracks 58 Extraordinary Occurrences (KLB) across 39 districts in 14 provinces. While weekly cases have dropped significantly from a peak of 2,740 down to 177, the high intensity of patient contact keeps medical staff vulnerable.

Under the new guidelines, hospitals must implement early screening and triage, designate isolation rooms, ensure the availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and enforce strict infection control systems. In addition, all suspected cases must be reported within 24 hours through the national surveillance system to prevent further transmission clusters within clinical environments.
