Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Affairs has launched a deep-dive investigation into the sponsors and guarantors of 320 foreigners arrested for their involvement in an international online gambling syndicate at Hayam Wuruk Plaza Tower, Jakarta.

"We will conduct a thorough search regarding the sponsors or guarantors who facilitated these foreign nationals' stay in Indonesia," said Arief Eka Riyanto, the Head of the Sub-directorate of Immigration Supervision, on Sunday (10/5/2026), as cited by antaranews.com. 

The ministry took custody of the suspects from the Indonesian National Police (INP)'s Criminal Investigation Agency to evaluate potential immigration violations and criminal acts.

Currently, the foreigners are being held at Immigration Detention Centers in West Jakarta and Kuningan, South Jakarta. While the police continue their criminal investigation, immigration authorities are focusing on the legal status of the suspects' entry and the accountability of the entities that brought them to Indonesia. 

The move is part of a broader crackdown on international digital crime networks using the country as an operational base.
