Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) saw the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) close in negative territory on Wednesday afternoon (11/3/2026) as market participants favored short-term trading strategies ahead of the long Eid al-Fitr holiday. 

The index dropped 51.51 points, or 0.69 percent, to settle at 7,389.40, while the LQ45 index of liquid blue-chip stocks also retreated by 1.01 percent.

"Investors are leaning toward short-term trading amidst rising uncertainty regarding the conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, and in anticipation of the extended holiday break starting next week," said Ratna Lim, the Head of Research at Phintraco Sekuritas, as cited by antaranews.com.

Market sentiment remained cautious as global investors weighed conflicting diplomatic signals from the U.S. administration concerning the Strait of Hormuz. While some regional Asian indices managed gains, the domestic market was weighed down by significant corrections in the energy and raw materials sectors, which fell 1.69 percent and 1.66 percent, respectively. Despite the overall decline, the technology and healthcare sectors showed resilience, posting modest gains during the session.

Total trading value reached Rp15.68 trillion, with over 32 billion shares exchanged across 1.8 million transactions. Analysts suggest that the market will continue to fluctuate as traders balance geopolitical risks with local seasonal liquidity shifts.
