"Monitoring of Indonesian citizens is being conducted through regular communication with community nodes, particularly in Iwate, Aomori, and Hokkaido prefectures," said Muhammad Al Aula, the Embassy’s Coordinator for Social and Cultural Affairs, as quoted by antaranews.com..
He confirmed that no Indonesian casualties have been reported thus far. The embassy has established emergency hotlines and urged residents to remain calm while following local evacuation orders and monitoring official tsunami alerts.
