Indonesian policewoman Second Brigadier Aprilia Eka Putri Lumbantungkup from North Sumatra Regional Police has brought pride to the nation after winning a gold medal at the 2025 Kickboxing World Cup held in Tashkent, Uzbekhistan, from 7 to 12 OCtober , defeating elite fighters from 40 countries in the K-1 52 kg female category.
“On behalf of the Indonesian National Police leadership, we extend our highest congratulations to Bripda Aprilia for making Indonesia proud on the global stage,” said Inspector General Mulia Hasudungan Ritonga, the Head of the Indonesian National Police (INP)’s Sabhara Corps, in a statement on Sunday (12/10/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
He added that officer Aprilia’s victory proves the resilience and discipline of police officers extend beyond duty, reflecting the success of the INP Sports Committee’s athlete development program.
Born in Samosir in 2002, officer Aprilia now serves in Medan and is preparing for the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand, representing Indonesia in kickboxing.
