inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) and the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) together are holding an Affordable Food Movement across Indonesia to maintain price stability and ensure food availability for the public ahead of Eid al-Fitr 2026.
The program is being implemented at 36 Regional Police and approximately 500 Sub-regional Police throughout Indonesia, with the center of activity at the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police.
The Vice Chief of INP, Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo, stated that this program demonstrates the police's commitment to working with the government to ensure that the public can access basic necessities at affordable prices.
"This morning, we, along with the President Director of Bulog and relevant ministries, simultaneously launched the Cheap Food Movement throughout Indonesia. This activity is being carried out at 36 Regional Police and approximately 500 Sub-regional Police," the Dedi told the media on Friday (3/13/2026).
During this program, INP distributed approximately 1,337,375 kilograms, or approximately 1,337 tons, of rice to communities in various regions. In addition to rice, the public can also obtain other supplies such as sugar, cooking oil, flour, and other essential necessities.
According to him, this program also aims to provide assurance to the public that the national food stock is secure and sufficient.
"We also need to inform you that this activity is being implemented to provide assurance to the public that the national food stock is secure. This means that the public does not need to panic, as the availability of national food stocks is still very much available," he explained.
He also added that in 2026, INP received a quota of approximately 80,000 tons of rice from Bulog to be distributed to the public through various food distribution programs.
"We will continue to coordinate with Bulog to distribute food to the public. We guarantee that food supplies are sufficient and price stability is maintained," he continued.
