inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, instructed all ranks of the police to continue deploying personnel and facilities in humanitarian operations to assist communities affected by the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

The INP have deployed their 10 K9 dogs, along with their teams, along with medicines and various logistical assistance. The K9 deployment is intended to expedite the search for victims in the affected areas.

The Head of Public Information Bureau of INP Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, explained that the deployment is part of the INP's ongoing humanitarian operations and will not stop with a single deployment.

"We continue to strengthen the NTT Regional Police. What we are sending today is not just personnel, but also a K9 unit for search, health support, medicines, and logistics needed by the community," he explained, Sunday (8/16/2026).

In addition to personnel and K9, the aircraft also carried approximately 3,411 kilograms (3.4 tons) of equipment and humanitarian aid.

The aid includes 409 kilograms of medicine, 45 boxes of ready-to-eat meals, 10 Wontech units, SAR and K9 equipment, and 10 K9 kennel boxes.

The NTT Regional Police are directly involved in the field, while the INP Headquarters continues to prepare and deploy reinforcements based on actual needs.

"The principle is that aid must move quickly, be precisely targeted, and meet the needs of the community on the ground," he added.

The INP are also providing air transportation support, including three AW169 helicopters, to support personnel mobility and aid distribution to hard-to-reach or isolated areas.

The INP's CASA aircraft in the NTT region are also being utilized to support personnel mobility and aid distribution to affected areas.
