inp.polri.go.id - South Sumatra. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo urged all online motorcycle taxi drivers to make maximum use of the 110 Hotline service to reduce street crime.
Sigit explained that online motorcycle taxi drivers are strategic partners in maintaining public order and security. Given their high mobility on the streets, they can quickly identify any disturbances requiring police action.
"On the one hand, online motorcycle taxis are expected to be strategic partners in public order and security, providing rapid information to the police by utilizing the 110 service when crimes occur on the streets or incidents requiring immediate police presence," said Sigit.
Sigit made this statement during a rally for online motorcycle taxi drivers and public order workers, "Nyago Bumi Sriwijaya Aman Bae," at Bumi Sriwijaya Stadium, Palembang City, South Sumatra, on Sunday (3/8/2026).
Sigit stated that rapid information dissemination can reduce the number of crimes that harm the community.
"This partnership is expected to reduce crime rates and increase the disclosure of crimes occurring in the field," said Sigit.
Furthermore, Sigit also instructed all Regional Police Chiefs to prepare a Panic Button application for all online motorcycle taxi drivers.
"Furthermore, to protect online motorcycle taxi drivers who could potentially become victims of robbery, I have asked the Regional Police Chief to immediately prepare a panic button application," said Sigit.
Sigit emphasized that the Panic Button application demonstrates the National Police's commitment to continuously ensuring the safety of online motorcycle taxi drivers from all potential street crimes.
"To protect and safeguard our online motorcycle taxi drivers from becoming victims of street crime," Sigit concluded.
