inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Hajj Task Force has again thwarted the departure of 32 non-procedural Hajj pilgrims. The prevention measures were implemented at Terminal 2 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Friday (5/15/2026).

Initial investigations indicated that the Indonesian citizens claimed to be traveling to Hainan Province, People's Republic of China (PRC) on a Batik Air flight from Jakarta to Singapore. However, during inspection, immigration officers discovered that 31 individuals held single-entry Saudi Arabian work visas valid for 90 days.

The Head of the Public Relations Division of INP, Inspector General Jhonny Eddizon Isir, stated that further investigation revealed that five individuals claimed to be performing the Hajj pilgrimage via a specific route, while the others stated their purpose was for tourism.

One individual was also identified as acting as the tour leader and operational manager of the travel agency (FEIGO Travel) that organized the trip.

"Officers also secured 32 Indonesian passports, 32 Jakarta-Singapore flight boarding passes, and 31 Saudi Arabian work visas for further investigation," he said on Tuesday (5/19/2026).

Johnny emphasized that the establishment of the INP Hajj Task Force demonstrates the state's commitment to providing comprehensive protection to the public to ensure that the Hajj pilgrimage is carried out safely, orderly, and in accordance with regulations.

"Securing and supervising the Hajj is not only a matter of law enforcement, but also part of the state's protection of the public. The INP Hajj Task Force is established through collaboration with relevant ministries, institutions, and the authorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to ensure citizens receive certainty, security, and protection from various potential crimes, including fraud and misuse of departure routes," said Jhonny.

This prevention measure is an effort to strengthen supervision and law enforcement during the 2026 Hajj season to ensure public protection from non-procedural Hajj pilgrimage practices, visa abuse, and various fraudulent schemes that harm prospective pilgrims.

The INP Hajj Task Force continues to implement preventive measures, early detection, and enforcement against suspected violations that could potentially harm the public.
