Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police said on Wednesday (25/3/2026) that an Iraqi man faces a potential life sentence for the murder of a 36-year-old woman, DA, whose body was discovered recently in a rented house in Cipayung, East Jakarta.
"The suspect is charged for murder and other criminal acts, carrying a penalty of life imprisonment or a maximum of 20 years," said Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto, the Head of Public Relations for the Metro Jaya Police, as reported by antaranews.com.
Investigations by the General Criminal Investigation Directorate revealed that the victim, identified as DA, a granddaughter of the Betawi comedian Mpok Nori, was strangled and stabbed following a domestic dispute triggered by jealousy.
Police arrested the suspect, identified as F at a rest area on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road on Saturday, just hours after the victim's family discovered her body. Authorities confirmed the crime occurred in the early hours of the morning, with the suspect now in custody as the case proceeds under severe assault and homicide charges.
