Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Traffic authorities initiated a contraflow lane on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road Friday morning (3/4/2026) to alleviate heavy congestion as holiday travelers headed toward Central and East Java.

"This counter-flow measure is a strategic step taken under police discretion to manage high vehicle volume and ensure smooth transit for eastbound commuters," said PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol Corporate Secretary Ria Marlinda Paallo, as reported by antaranews.com.

The specialized traffic engineering stretched from kilometer 47 to kilometer 66, beginning at 9.18 am following a significant spike in departures from Jakarta. Police officer and toll road officers monitored the situational flow, adjusting lane availability to prevent bottlenecks at critical interchanges during the Good Friday long weekend.

Motorists were urged to maintain safe following distances and ensure electronic toll balances were sufficient before entering the specialized lanes.
