"There is no tolerance for muggings. I have ordered my personnel to shoot on sight. The mugging perpetrators will be shot on sight," calls Helfi on Friday (5/15/2026).

According to him, the muggings do not commit their crimes for financial gain, but rather use most of the proceeds from the motor vehicle thefts to buy drugs.

"They commit thefts to buy drugs, not to earn money," he said.

He also challenged any mugging perpetrators who continue to operate to prove his claim. The Police Chief assured that firm, measured action will be taken against the perpetrators.
