Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A magnitude 3.0 earthquake struck southwest of Nabire, Papua, on Sunday morning (12/7/2026) at 11.10 am.
The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that the earthquake's epicenter was located at coordinates 3.79 South Latitude and 135.03 East Longitude.
"The epicenter was 86 kilometers southwest of Nabire, Papua, at a depth of 10 kilometers," BMKG announced via its official X account.
The agency noted that the preliminary data prioritizes speed, meaning the data processing is not yet stable and could change as more comprehensive information becomes available. No immediate damage or casualties were reported following the minor shallow tremor.
