Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested a 48-year-old woman in West Jakarta on Thursday for allegedly impersonating a graft official to extort a senior lawmaker at the House of Representatives (DPR) complex.

"The suspect targeted the Deputy Chairman of Commission III by claiming to be a KPK envoy to solicit Rp 300 million," said Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto, the Head of Public Relations for Metro Jaya Police, on Saturday (10/4/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.

The victim, lawmaker Ahmad Sahroni, alerted authorities after the suspect, identified as TH, demanded the illicit payment on 6 April 2026. Following a coordinated sting operation, police seized the money in cash, counterfeit agency stamps, and falsified summons letters.

The suspect currently faces fraud charges under the Criminal Code. Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant against individuals claiming to "settle" legal cases through unofficial channels or financial inducements.
