IInp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has officially promoted the Chief of Metro Jaya Sub-regional Regional Police to a three-star rank of Commssioner General, following a direct mandate from President Prabowo Subianto. 

The rank of Commissioner General is on par with the rank of the Jakarta Regional Military Commander.

“This is a follow-up to the President's directive for Jakarta, where both the Jakarta Military Commander and the Regional Police Chief are to be three-star officers,” Chief Sigit said on Thursday (14/5/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.

The current chief, Asep Edi Suheri, officially attained the rank of Commissioner General based on Presidential Decree Number 38/POLRI/2026. A 1994 Police Academy graduate, Chief Suheri has an extensive background in criminal investigation and cybercrime. Before leading the Jakarta police, he served as Deputy Chief of the Criminal Investigation Agency
