inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Labschool Kebayoran High School is preserving and promoting Indonesian culture through the 2026 Cultural Mission (Misbud) program. This program provides a platform for students to introduce the richness of Indonesian arts and culture to the international stage.
The Misbud program is scheduled to run from July 11 to 22, 2026. This series of activities will take participants on cultural visits to six European countries: Italy, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, and France.
The culmination of the 2026 Misbud program will be held from July 16 to 19, 2026, in Paris, France. Through student participation in the 38th International Competition and Festival of Folklore, Dance, and Music: Etoiles de Paris, participants will have the opportunity to introduce the diversity of Indonesian arts and culture to participants and audiences from various countries.
The event, organized by the European Association of Folklore Festivals (EAFF), an ICH Partner of UNESCO, provides a strategic platform for Indonesian students to showcase the rich arts, traditions, and cultural values of the archipelago on the international stage. This event serves as part of cross-cultural learning and a direct introduction to world history, art, and civilization.
The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Fadli Zon, emphasized that Indonesia possesses extraordinary cultural richness, an important asset for introducing it to the world. He stated that the students participating in Misbud 2026 have a strategic role as ambassadors of Indonesian culture on the global stage.
"No other country possesses a cultural richness as great as Indonesia's. And these students will undoubtedly be ambassadors of Indonesian culture on the global stage. This culture is a form of soft power. I wish you good luck in promoting our culture. Bring home achievements, experiences, and friendships. Because in the hands of the younger generation, the future of Indonesia, including the future of Indonesian culture, will continue to thrive," said Fadli Zon, as quoted in a written release on Monday (7/6/2026).
The participation of Indonesian students in this global cultural forum is also an effort to support tourism promotion, strengthen Indonesia's positive image, and foster good relations with other nations. This activity also emphasizes the vital role of the younger generation in preserving, developing, and passing on the nation's cultural values.
