inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman ensured that national food supplies are secure to support the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, which aims to meet the needs of the nation's next generation sustainably and equitably throughout Indonesia.
"With increased production and strong reserves, we ensure food stocks are secure to support the significant needs of the MBG program," Andi emphasized on Wednesday (4/8/2026).
The Ministry of Agriculture also ensured its full support for the implementation of the MBG by strengthening production, distribution, and stabilizing the national food supply.
Andi emphasized that the MBG is not just a food aid program, but a strategic government measure that has a direct impact on improving the quality of human resources and strengthening the people's economy.
"This is not just aid, but a major investment for the nation's future. Its impact is broad, from improving nutrition to stimulating the regional economy," he said.
Andi explained that the large number of beneficiaries gives the MBG a significant multiplier effect on the agricultural sector and MSMEs.
"Tens of millions of beneficiaries will boost massive production of rice, chicken, eggs, and vegetables. This will revitalize the village economy," he said.
The Minister of Agriculture emphasized that the program's readiness is supported by strong national food production and reserves. National rice reserves have now reached over 4.5 million tons, one of the highest levels in recent years.
