inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating all forms of drug crime without discrimination, including those involving police officers.
This was emphasized following the disclosure of suspected violators by the South Tangerang Sub-regional Police personnel and several other personnel from INP Drugs Criminal Investigation Directorate.
The Head of INP Public Relations Division, Inspector General Jhonny Edison Isir, stated that the disclosure is part of their commitment to take firm action against all forms of narcotics abuse, including those involving internal personnel.
"As a law enforcement institution mandated to eradicate all forms of crime, including narcotics, which constitute extraordinary crimes, we will not tolerate any form of narcotics and psychotropic abuse, either by the public or suspected violators within our force," said Jhonny Edison Isir on Monday (7/27/2026).
Previously, INP Criminal Investigation Directorate disclosed suspected violators by South Tangerang Sub-regional Police personnel.
These personnel were arrested in connection with alleged drug trafficking, drug abuse, and alleged abuse of authority in narcotics law enforcement.
Jhonny Edison Isir emphasized that the police will not grant special treatment or impunity to personnel proven involved in drug networks or other drug-related crimes.
"The police leadership has firmly guaranteed that there will be no impunity for any police personnel involved in drug networks. We are implementing stricter examination standards to maintain the institution's dignity," he said.
Currently, police investigators are still handling the criminal case to thoroughly uncover the case, including investigating the alleged roles of each of the arrested parties.
Meanwhile, relating to the police professional code of ethics for the personnel involved will be handled by the Professional and Security Division of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police in accordance with applicable regulations.
INP ensures that all handling processes, both related to criminal aspects and the code of ethics, will be carried out professionally, transparently, and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
