Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian embassy in Ankara confirmed on Tuesday (3/6/2025) that no Indonesian citizens were harmed in the 5.8-magnitude earthquake that struck Marmaris, Turkey, early Tuesday.
“All Indonesians in affected regions are safe and accounted for,” said Indonesian Ambassador to Turkey, Achmad Rizal Purnama, in a written statement, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The earthquake, centered 67.9 km deep near Marmaris in Muğla Province, occurred at 2:17 a.m. local time and affected nearby provinces including Aydın, Manisa, İzmir, Denizli, and Antalya.
Local authorities reported one death due to panic and 69 injuries, mostly from people jumping out of fear. No major infrastructure damage was reported.
As of June 2025, there are 9,532 Indonesians in Turkey, including 2,257 in affected regions and 184 students.
The embassy is maintaining contact with Indonesian communities and continues monitoring the situation.
