inp.polri.go.id - Mamuju. The West Sulawesi Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Adi Deriyan Jayamarta, reiterated the police's primary function as protectors of the public to all his personnel. 

He conveyed this based on monitoring and evaluation of developments in the public order and security situation over the past week.

In his remarks, Andi highlighted a case of sexual violence that occurred within the jurisdiction of the West Sulawesi Regional Police. He issued strict instructions to his staff.

"I have ordered that it be processed according to the law. There will be no compromise for crimes against women and children. I will prosecute anyone who commits it," Adi explained, as quoted by RRI, Monday (4/27/2026).

According to him, the victim in the case was reluctant to report the case for fear of destroying the name of her family. This issue brings an important note for the institution.

"This is our job; we must be able to convince the public to report any crimes. The police are here not only to take action, but also to provide protection and ensure the survival of the victim's family," he said.
