Inp.polri.go.id - Bulungan. The Special Crime Investigation Directorate's Specific Crimes Sub-Directorate under the North Kalimantan Regional Police conducted on-site ground checks and launched an investigation into alleged illegal land burning in Mangkupadi Village, East Tanjung Palas District, Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan, on Monday (7/9/2026).

Led by Second Inspector M. Naufal Aji Pratama, the four-member team surveyed post-fire areas, tagged geographic coordinates, conducted aerial drone mapping, and documented environmental damages despite thick haze and difficult road access.

The North Kalimantan Police confirmed that investigators will utilize satellite imagery monitoring and issue clarification summonses to local residents and corporate entities operating in the affected zone.

The field investigation reinforces the North Kalimantan Police's commitment to enforcing environmental protection laws and curbing illegal land-clearing practices across the province.
