Inp.polri.go.id - Medan. The North Sumatra Regional Police commemorated the 80th Bhayangkara Day with a Car Free Day event at Lapangan Merdeka, Medan, led by North Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Whisnu Hermawan Februanto, on Sunday (14/6/2026).

“This celebration shows the Indonesian National Police’s commitment to serving the community not only in security but also through programs that provide real benefits,” said Chief. Whisnu.

The event involved hundreds of Mobile Brigade (Brimob) officers providing direct services to the public. Through Brimob’s field kitchen, 1,000 portions of food were distributed free of charge. A low-cost market offering rice and cooking oil was also organized to support household needs. In addition, a water treatment vehicle supplied 1,000 liters of drinking water to residents.

The North Sumatra Police displayed tactical vehicles and equipment to educate the public about Brimob’s role. The event also featured a lucky draw, drawing enthusiastic participation.
