inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Minister of Population and Family Development, Wihaji, encouraged all families in Indonesia to bring their families together through joint family dining without the interruption of technology.

In celebrating the 33th National Family Day on June 29th, 2026, Wihaji invites all fathers to start family conversation with their family daily during dining at the very least. Fathers are urged to play the vital part of the father figure for their family amidst the advancement of technology.

“We should not let our kids grow without a father figure. We should not let our dining table be quiet as our kids and wives are more interested in their phones. Hug your kids, talk with them, play with them,” invites Wihaji.

He also invites families to be the safe place for their family members to talk, to self-express, to deliver their opinion.

“Have you provided a safe place for your family? As the advancement grows rapidly, we have to be as thorough as possible as we are now faced with uncertainties. Digital technology disruption can come to families without any warning,” says Wihaji.

In realizing a good and harmonious family, Wihaji emphasized the importance of human resource quality through three pillars.

“First is improving health to reduce stunting. Children whose brains are not fully developed will be having trouble growing. That is why, providing the perfect nutrition on their first 1,000 days is important,” explains Wihaji.

Second is giving character education where family must be the home for safety amidst the technology disruption.

“Third is mental resilience as family is the upstream of every national policy," explained Wihaji.
