inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo attended the opening of the 2026 Judo Kapolri Cup at the Segiri Sports Hall in Samarinda City, East Kalimantan. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing sportsmanship throughout the event.
Sigit explained that the judo championship was also open to the general public. According to Sigit, this event is expected to provide opportunities for the development of new talented athletes.
"Of course, our hope is not only to acquire new talents who can then be prepared to support programs related to national and international judo championship events, but also to maintain and manage them, and to develop new athletes," Sigit said on Monday (5/18/2026).
Furthermore, Sigit hopes that this event will also encourage collaboration among communities with micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This will ultimately become a beneficial activity for all levels of society.
"This is a collaboration between us, the Indonesian Judo Association (PJSI), the community, and the local government to support sports programs. We will continue to hold these events in the future in our search for talented athletes," said Sigit.
In addition to improving the regional economy, Sigit explained that this activity can serve as a foundation for developing resilient human resources (HR) to face all kinds of challenges.
"On the one hand, it also revitalizes the regional economy, and we also instill the values of discipline, enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and fair play. This is certainly important for our future generations to face the various challenges ahead," Sigit concluded.
