inp.polri.go.id - Papua. The Papua Regional Police received agricultural equipment and machinery from the Papua Provincial Government as a form of support for the government's ongoing food security program.
The assistance was handed over directly by the Governor of Papua, Mathius Derek Fakhiri, to the Papua Regional Police, represented by the Director of Community Development of the Papua Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Erick Kadir Sully.
In his remarks, the Governor of Papua stated that the agricultural machinery assistance provided demonstrates the Papua Provincial Government's commitment to supporting increased agricultural productivity while strengthening regional food security.
"The equipment provided should be utilized optimally and managed well. I hope this assistance can support productive agricultural activities and provide tangible benefits to the community," said Mathius.
According to him, the agricultural sector is currently one of the government's main focuses in achieving national food security.
Papua has extensive land potential and natural resources that can be developed to support various agricultural commodities, from rice, corn, coffee, cocoa, and even horticulture.
Mathius also encouraged all elements of society, including members of the police and civil servants who own land, to use it productively to support food security and improve family welfare.
On that occasion, the Papua Provincial Government handed over agricultural machinery assistance, including four jonder units and 10 hand tractors, to the Papua Regional Police.
This assistance is expected to support the implementation of the Papua Regional Police's food security program through various community development and empowerment activities.
