Inp.polri.go.id - Timika. Chairman of the Red and White Front of the Republic of Indonesia (BMP-RI) in Mimika Regency, Panius Kogoya, strongly condemned the murder of three innocent civilians in Yahukimo Regency, calling for firm law enforcement and enhanced protection for local communities.

Expressing deep grief and disappointment, he said that violence against non-combatant civilians cannot be justified under any circumstances.

"I, Panius Kogoya as Chairman of BMP-RI Timika Regency, express deep disappointment over the shooting of innocent civilians on July 20, 2026," Kogoya said on Saturday (25/7/2026). "The victims killed were my kin, sharing my family line. Capturing and shooting them is a heinous act."

He raised his support for central and regional authorities, as well as joint military-police security forces, to pursue and prosecute the perpetrators. He extended his gratitude to security officers, particularly the Damai Cartenz Task Force, for assisting in evacuating the victims' remains and maintaining regional security. 

To restore public safety and allow residents to carry out daily economic activities without fear, Kogoya recommended establishing dedicated security posts across high-risk areas in Yahukimo.
