Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Two vessels owned by PT Pertamina International Shipping remain anchored in the Persian Gulf this Sunday, unable to transit the Strait of Hormuz due to heightened military tensions and ongoing maritime blockades.
"Our priority is the safety of all crew members and cargo as we monitor the dynamic situation in the Strait," said Acting Corporate Secretary Vega Pita on Sunday (19/4/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.
The tankers, Pertamina Pride and Gamsunoro, are currently awaiting clearance following declarations from Iran’s Revolutionary Guard regarding strict control over the waterway. PIS officials confirmed they are coordinating with Indonesian ministries and international authorities to develop a safe passage plan. The standoff persists as regional forces respond to US port restrictions, impacting global energy supply chains.
Despite the disruption, the company maintains constant communication with the vessels to ensure operational readiness. Authorities hope for immediate de-escalation to allow the tankers to resume their scheduled voyages toward Indonesia safely.
