Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin stated that the government will facilitate the commercialization of Indonesia's first plasma fractionation plant through a strategic partnership to strengthen plasma downstreaming and the independence of the national healthcare industry.

He said the government will oversee regulations from upstream to downstream, with a short-term focus on strengthening the supply of raw materials through national plasma centers.

"We will definitely fully support and seek the best way to structure this collaboration effectively. The government can move forward through integration with institutions such as Danantara or synergize with state-owned pharmaceutical holding companies like Bio Farma," said Budi on Thursday (6/4/2026).

He emphasized that the Ministry of Health will facilitate this strategic partnership through integration with the government's institutional ecosystem to ensure optimal downstreaming.

"Going forward, we will develop a long-term roadmap for the Indonesian healthcare industry for the next 5, 15, and 30 years, encompassing the pharmaceutical sector, hospital services, and medical devices," said the Minister of Health.

According to him, the construction of a plasma plant for the production of raw materials for drugs, vaccines, and innovative pharmaceutical products will strengthen national health resilience. 

The plant, which began development following regulatory changes in 2023, is targeted to be fully operational in 2027.
